Why do large organizations think it’s perfectly OK to spam their employees with multiple emails a day of blatant propaganda?

So here I am at my new job (well, one-week old really), and instead of focusing on the really important things, all I can think of is - WTH haven’t they kerned the bloody official fonts properly?!
Shoddy font creation, tsk tsk.
How is it that every client office I’ve worked at has had such atrocious broadband access? I mean, given the industry they’re in, it’s pretty much unacceptable.
Shocking.
